Bratislava is covered by public transport consisted of trams, buses and trolleybuses. Buy your ticket in the machine (you need coins) or in kiosk (you need a bit of courage and patience). 15-minutes ride costs 0,70 €, 60-minutes cost 0,90 €. When arriving from the airport, take a bus no. 61 to the city centre (Main train station, Hlavná stanica). Another relevant spots include Bus station (Autobusová stanica) and Petržalka train station (ŽST Petržalka). You can travel by coach or train all around the country for reasonable prices. However, frequency and quality varies. Train is usually more comfortable option. Local buses operate to every village. Time-planning in advance is fully recommended. Fare is around 5 cents per kilometre (cca 5 Euros per 100 kilometres) both trains and coaches. Vienna and Bratislava rank among the closest capitals in the world with only 65 kms between them. You can travel by boat, by bus or by train. Boat (Twin city liner) squeezes out your budget but brings you the feeling of upper-class on the Danube. 19 coaches daily are operated by Slovak Lines (€7,7 one way). Trains operate from Vienna Südbahnhof Ostbahn every hour and journey lasts one hour. Both train stations in Bratislava (main station and Petržalka station) are conveniently connected with the city centre by public transport, however from the main station it is only 10-minutes walk.

Convenient coach connection between Budapest and Bratislava is provided by Student Agency, which runs 2 direct coaches daily (3 hours). From Budapest 9:15am and 4:15pm, from Bratislava 10:45am and 8:15pm. Another coach option is provided by Orange Ways. From Bratislava main train station there are 6 daily trains arriving at Budapest Keleti station (2,5 hours).
